Snow Camping…..Are you serious?

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Jonathan announced to the family on Valentines Day night at dinner that he wanted us all to go camping in a couple of weeks and sleep in snow caves. I’m sorry, but that does not even sound fun at all. Not one little bit. Nope. I don’t think so. I am not in any way an Eskimo. So he took the boys and went tonight. While they are freezing their butts off, me and Av had a nice, fun, warm girls night out. we went to see the movie Penelope. Real cute show. We both loved it. We then went to one of Av favorites to eat. Joe Vera’s. Its now time for bed and I’m sleeping in my nice warm, soft bed! We are meeting the boys in the morn to go sledding. I can handle a couple of hours in the snow as long as i know I’m going home to my nice warm house. Before i go to bed i will say a little prayer that my children wont freeze to death tonight.

Check it out

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

If you get a chance check out the Jan/ Feb issue of Utah Valley Magazine. On the front cover is Bron Roylance. I have got to clean a couple of his cabins.  He really is talented. The handcrafted work he does is amazing. The pictures in the magazine doesn’t show the detail and time that he puts into his cabins. I really cant say enough about his attention to detail and design. Of all the cabins i have been in and cleaned at sundance his are by far my favorite. They are different and original.  I cleaned the tub and dusted the rooms in the pictures. :) I could only wish i had some of his talent.  My dad and my Grandpa Kaze both were amazing carpenters and taught me to respect building, finish work, and wood working. I have an eye for it and maybe thats why i love looking at all the talent and hard work Bron put into his cabins. Truly amazing. I am so glad i got the chance to see his cabins and meet him. He is a really nice, genuine good guy. I love working up at sundance, i get to meet so many good, interesting people. It is so calming and beautiful up there. I find myself just taking a time out and taking in the view.      http://www.uvmag.com/

Adding to our littlest pet shop. (fur real)

img_0059.jpgimg_0062.jpg

I took Reese and Avrie with me shopping sat. after Reeses hair cut. I wanted to look in a clothing store that was next to a pet store. Reese and Avrie wanted to look at the animals of course, so I told them if they were good that we would just look. LOOK. Thats it. We now have a Russian dwarf hamster. He is so cute. We couldn’t resist. I had one when i was younger and thought it might be fun for the kids. I bought a book to read, all about hamsters. It says that if you want your hamster to live its full 2 year life span, you need to let them sleep. :) ya right. There is 7 of us all wanting a turn with him. We better enjoy him while we can, he might not be with us very long. We now have 2 dogs, a cat, and a hamster.

Reese had been wanting to see the movie Step up 2. He kept asking and asking so i thought today would be a good day to take the kids to see it. The older boys were not to excited about seeing it, so i took Reese and Avrie to see it. It was an ok movie. Cool dance moves. Reese was also excited to see his little girl friend Kasey, at the movie. Fun times.

My New Church Calling

Monday, February 18th, 2008

After 7 years of cub scouts i was released this last Oct. I was an assistant wolf leader, wolf leader, and then assistant cub committee chair, then the big one CUB COMMITTEE CHAIR. I loved that calling and working with the boys. I was also a primary teacher for a while at the same time. I love the kids and like working with them. They make me smile. I can look and see all the little wolfs i had at one time and they are now big boys, like my Tyrell. He was one of my first wolfs.  Now after my little break, i got a new calling. I am the new ward Librarian. It is kinda of funny cuz my mom had her masters in library science and worked at the Provo City Library for many years. She absolutely loved her job and did it even when she was so sick with the chemo therapy that she went through for years, she always went back to work on Monday. She had a love for books and reading.  i remember back to a time when i was in high school, my mom was trying to tell me about the dewy decimal system and I had no interest in it. i told her I would never be a librarian. Ha, ha, ha. Never say never.  my first day on the job was kind of easy. There is not much to it. I keep thinking there has to be more to this. All i did was smile and had out chalk and crayons.

YUCK!!!!!

Monday, February 18th, 2008

On Friday night we went out to dinner and movie to celebrate my birthday. We always do a birthday night out with Brent and Shantell Berrett. We all had thought we would try somewhere new. Just for the fun of it. So we decided to try a little place on University Ave called A Touch Of Soul. It is a Korean place. Jonathan really liked his plate of squid. The rest of us were not to thrilled with what we ordered. When we got to the movie theater i started not feeling so great. I was really dizzy and my tummy was feeling a little yuck. I was determined to stick it out and be tuff. I really wanted to see the movie, Jumper. I was able to use my coat as a pillow and lay over Jonathan’s shoulder. When the movie ended it was all i could do to get out to the car and drive home. i did not say a word, to afraid i might puke. Sure enough, as soon as i could get to the toilet it came up, California rolls and all. It was a very spicy meal. Not the best thing to come back up. Our cat, Tigger, decided to come see what i was doing and put his front paws up on the seat and i thought he was going to get puked on. He is fascinated with what goes on in the toilet. ???????? Dumb cat, that we love. Anyway, it was a long night. i have not been that sick in a long time. At first i was thinking it was the food, but since no one else seemed to be sick i think i had caught something. YUCK!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Feb 13 1975

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

img_0049.jpg

One of the hightlights of my birthday was talking to my grandma Fischer (my moms mom) on the phone. I love her to death. She is such a good part of why i am who i am today, and I still have a long ways to go to be what she is. The other highlight is the Happy Birthday text from Tyrell and the Birthday notes that Reese and Avrie made for me.
